Great Museums Television

I was out catching up with some friends yesterday when I learned that one of them works online for a museum documentary company! Great Museums Television is an award-winning company that produces shows for PBS.

And I just spent two hours perusing their website.

OMG. This is my new favorite thing. AND THEY HAVE FULL EPISODES ON YOUTUBE!

Now, I’m not so much into watching television but these episodes are more inspirational and educational than the average pop entertainment. The underscoring and voice-over narration is also edu-tastic and brings me back to my childhood watching the History Channel.

This might just have to be a recurring feature.

My current fave: This episode about the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

They could have touched on her less-than-ethical acquisition of European masterpieces but… you can’t cover everything in half an hour.
